Chica was rescued by two ladies who found her wandering in a rough area of New Orleans. They named her “Chica” on the way to the rescue but I have since nicknamed her “Cheeky” (a term of endearment commonly used by someone from the UK for someone who is bratty in a cute way). Chica now lives with me/Tia Torres where she is working on her manners and social skills around other dogs.
She is perfect in the house, crate trained, quiet and well mannered when on leash. I’m not sure that I would place her with another dog since she’s still a little “stiff” around them and it appears that she is too nervous around other dogs. So I’m looking for a home for her as the only dog.
But she loves to play ball/fetch, with toys and at the same time, crawl up on the couch and cuddle. I mean….why would you need another pooch in your house?
And because she is a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix, she is energetic but not hyper which makes her the perfect dog for someone who enjoys the outdoors, going hiking, biking, pretty much anything that requires having fun. We are currently teaching her how to play frisbee because this girl can get airborne! “Cheeky” would make the ultimate agility dog. She is just so much fun and I’m really enjoying her being with me. But I want her to have a home of her very own.
