New Orleans is a city that will either embrace you or swallow you whole. It’s just that kind of place. And with all it’s history and culture of amazing food, music and people, sadly the dogs who end up as strays meet the worst side of the Big Easy.
In the Spring of 2023, we woke up to a flurry of posts about this dog who had wandered up to a woman’s door. The sweet dog was on the brink of death and was so emaciated that the good Samaritan couldn’t just turn her back on the desperate pooch. So she posted this heartbreaking pic all over social media. At the same time, she also reached out to us. And despite having every kennel, crate, room, and crevice in our building filled with dogs, we could not turn this dog away.
We named her after her savior, “Audria” and she is the sweetest, gentlest angel you’ve ever met. She is finally healthy enough and has gone through heartworm treatment, and is ready for a home of her own. Are there any little girls out there that need a new best friend?
