Patches didn't always have this happy face.  As a Hurricane Gustav dog, his horror didn't even start there. His story is one of double survival. Prior to beating out the most recent hurricane, Patches was left for dead.  Animal Control responded to a "dead dog" tangled up in razor wire on the road.  When Jefferson-Parish officers arrived they noticed that the almost skeleton like little brown dog was still breathing.  Not only did he have a full recovery but he rode out the storm of Gustav at the shelter where it didn't take shelter workers to learn that he LOVED playing ball and with his toys. Patch as we call him, is a fun dog and such a ham. Someone better hurry and adopt him or we're going to make him a movie star!
