If you’re looking for a dog who’s the total package—sweet, smart, playful, and full of love—Pecan is your guy! This handsome fella is thriving in our Prison Dog Program, where he’s not only mastering obedience but also soaking up all the love and structure the program provides.

🛏️ He’s a cuddle monster who LOVES to snuggle, but fair warning—he’s a total bed hog.
🐾 Fully housebroken and has the cutest way of letting you know he needs to go potty: he’ll gently (and repeatedly!) give you his paw as a signal.
💦 He’s a very enthusiastic drinker, which means your floor might get a little bath, too.
🎾 Pecan is obsessed with toys, balls, and chew bones—playtime is his love language.
🧠 He knows all his basic commands, plus fun tricks like “roll over” and “shake”—and yes, he knows left from right!
🔍 He’s super smart and LOVES a good game of “find it,” where you hide treats and watch him sniff them out like a pro.
🐕 He’s great with people and dogs alike, with no signs of food or toy guarding. He’s a vocal boy when he plays (it sounds intense, but it’s all in good fun), and he’s fine with other dogs who like to talk, too.

🚨 A few things we’re working on:
He’s a strong boy with a lot of energy, so leash manners are a big focus right now in his training. He can be a bit reactive in new environments, especially when someone new is holding the leash. Things like fishing poles, weedwhackers, or unfamiliar dogs can throw him off at first—but with structure, patience, and consistency, he’s showing lots of potential to grow past it.
