Trois: Three Times Abandoned
The name Trois means “three” — the number of times he was brought to Villalobos to be dumped, by three different people. Each time, a different face, a different excuse, but the same heartbreaking reality: no one wanted to give him the love and patience he deserved.
Trois is a stunning boy, but beneath his beauty lies a soul that has been wounded by abandonment. He is weary of the unfamiliar, struggling with anxiety and hesitation when new people try to interact with him. Vehicles, in particular, trigger deep discomfort—perhaps a painful reminder of the times he was left behind.
Since coming to VRC, Trois has slowly started to find his footing. With the guidance of our experienced staff, he has learned that not all humans will let him down. He’s still a work in progress, but every day, he shows his strength by allowing trust to grow, little by little.
Some dogs come to us looking for a second chance at a forever home. Others, like Trois, show us that they’ve already found it—with us.
Trois is a dog who thrives on consistency and trust. While he has formed deep bonds with his caregivers, his anxiety and unpredictable behavior around strangers have made it clear that the best place for him is the one he already knows and feels safe in—with us at VRC.
Though his tough exterior may be what most see at first glance, we know the sweet, loyal boy beneath it all. He has found his place with us, and while he may never leave our care, we hope that our supporters will love him just as much as we do.
Trois will continue to live his best life here at VRC, surrounded by those who understand and cherish him. Thank you for always standing by us and by dogs like Trois, who may not fit the mold of a “typical” adoption story but are just as deserving of love and security.
