Meet Wonderful
Wonderful is a sweet little pocket pittie with a big heart and an even bigger story. She was abandoned outside our facility in New Orleans—frightened, filthy, and unsure who to trust. With time, patience, and gentle encouragement, our team slowly gained her trust.
The first thing she received was a much-needed bath. She melted into the warmth of the water and the comfort of being wrapped in a soft towel afterward. A good meal followed, and for the first time in what must have been a while, Wonderful began to relax.
It wasn’t long before we noticed something unique about her—she didn’t respond to any sounds. A veterinary exam confirmed what we had suspected: Wonderful is deaf.
Despite this, her name suits her perfectly. She communicates with her eyes, her body language, and her deep sense of trust once she knows she’s safe. She’s proof that even the most frightened and forgotten dogs can blossom with a little love.
